Yuliia Bahrynivska

Yuliia Bahrynivska is an artist specialising in sacred art, a painter, and a teacher of fine arts. She was born in 1993 in Kalush, Ukraine. In 2012, she graduated from the Kalush College of Culture and Arts (in English via Google Translate), where she studied Fine Arts. In 2016, she earned her master's degree in Sacred Art from the Lviv National Academy of Arts. Since March 2016, Yuliia has been teaching in the "Fine Arts, Decorative Arts, and Restoration" program at the Kalush College of Culture and Arts, which is currently known as the Vocational College of Culture and Arts in Kalush.
Yuliia works in the fields of easel painting and iconography and has participated in group exhibitions since 2010, as well as in art residencies and plein air events. Her works can be found in private collections in Ukraine, the USA, Canada, Poland, the Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, and Mexico.
Since the onset of the full-scale war on February 24, 2022, Yuliia has been actively involved in various charitable projects to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Yuliia has held three solo exhibitions of icons in the Prykarpattia region of Ukraine: the first in 2019, titled "Prayer"; the second in 2021, titled "The Light of Truth"; and the third in 2024, titled "Following the Star."
Art historian and branding expert Andrii Budkevych commented on Yuliia Bahrynivska"s work: "There are artists endowed with the ability to shine in their creativity; Yuliia Bahrynivska is one of them. She fulfills her calling with dignity, and iconography brings harmony to existence. With humility, the artist sees that her work is necessary and has, above all, spiritual value. The artist holds the belief that this is what the Lord desires."
Yuliia describes her artistic practice: "Iconography is my prayer, my conversation with God. Creativity is my instrument of self-expression and service to people. I help others see the world through the lens of beauty, aesthetics, goodness, and love.
